I work as an attending physician in the Emergency Departments at both Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute and the Buffalo VA Medical Center. Prior to medical school, I had exposure to Emergency Medicine while working and volunteering in the New York Capital Region as an EMT while completing my undergraduate studies. This initial exposure in combination with great clinical rotations in medical school led me to my specialty training in Emergency Medicine.
I am the Associate Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Buffalo General Medical Center. I work alongside the hospital and health system leadership to help improve the care delivered to patients of Western New York as well as work to continually improve the environment we work in. I have a special interest in the management of neurologic emergencies, especially acute stroke, and work alongside the Buffalo General Medical Center Stroke Quality Committee as well as the Western New York Regional Stroke Committee.
I am very passionate about medical education. I work closely with the Emergency Medicine Residents in several ways including as a mentor, didactic lectures at Grand Rounds, clinical education, quality improvement, procedural skills, and communication skills. I hope to improve the way feedback is given to residents and medical students.
In the Fall of 2024, I began pursuing a Master's of Science in Medical Education at University of Pennsylvania to help continue to build my skills as a professional educator. I am excited to use the new skills and techniques I learn back in Buffalo!
