UBMD Emergency Medicine

Professional Summary:

I work as an attending physician in the Emergency Departments at both Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute and the Buffalo VA Medical Center. Prior to medical school, I had exposure to Emergency Medicine while working and volunteering in the New York Capital Region as an EMT while completing my undergraduate studies. This initial exposure in combination with great clinical rotations in medical school led me to my specialty training in Emergency Medicine.

I have a special interest in the management of neurologic emergencies, especially acute stroke. At Buffalo General Medical Center, I am the Assistant Emergency Department Stroke Director where I work alongside the Stroke Quality Committee with the goal of improving care provided to patients who arrive with acute cerebrovascular disorders. I also enjoy lecturing at Emergency Medicine Grand Rounds on acute neurologic emergencies.

I am very passionate about medical education. I work closely with the Emergency Medicine Residents in several ways including as a mentor, didactic lectures at Grand Rounds, clinical education, quality improvement, procedural skills, and communication skills. I hope to improve the way feedback is given to residents and medical students. I deliver the yearly Board Review lecture series for the UB Emergency Medicine Residency.

In the Fall of 2024, I am starting a Master's of Science in Medical Education program at University of Pennsylvania in order to help continue to build my skills as a professional educator. I am excited to use the new skills and techniques I learn in Buffalo!
