Professional Summary:

I have been a member of the faculty at the Jacobs School of Medicine since 1990. Most of my career was spent at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Buffalo, NY. My focus for the majority of my career has been hepatology. My emphasis has been on the clinical care of patients, particularly those with hepatic disorders, but I do general GI as well. I have held many hospital and academic administrative positions over the years.
Although research was not my focus, I have published, mostly in the field of liver disease.
Six years ago, I moved from the VA to the Erie County Medical Center where I serve as the Chief of Gastroenterology. I am the Program Director of the GI fellowship program and teach extensively in the medical school first year curriculum.
