Dr. Joshna Singh is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University at Buffalo and a board-certified psychiatrist. Originally from India, Dr. Singh completed medical school and her initial residency training in psychiatry before moving to the United States, where she completed her psychiatry residency at the University at Buffalo. She has been a faculty member of the Jacobs School in the Department of Psychiatry’s Psychiatry since 2014.

She serves as the Medical Director of the UBMD Center for Advanced Psychiatry, where she oversees operations of an outpatient psychiatry practice with annual revenue exceeding $2 million. In this role, she leads a multidisciplinary team of 21, including 14 psychiatrists, a psychologist, a social worker, and five administrative staff, ensuring delivery of high-quality, coordinated behavioral health services.

Her clinical and academic focus centers on advancing perinatal and reproductive mental health through early identification, evidence-based interventions, and integrated models of care. In addition to her faculty role, Dr. Singh serves as a consulting perinatal psychiatrist with Project TEACH, providing statewide consultation and education to primary care and obstetric providers. She is also a co-investigator with the EMPOWER study, a PCORI-funded initiative designed to improve perinatal mental health outcomes through community-based interventions and collaborative care frameworks.
