Professional Summary:

I am a clinical psychologist with the UBMD Internal Medicine team in Williamsville, NY. The foundation of my practice is integrated care, which means providing comprehensive, team-based care to patients that emphasizes the intersection of biological, psychological, and social factors that influence a person’s health. Much of my work is with the UBMD Internal Medicine Primary Care team, where I serve as a behavioral health consultant. I provide brief intervention and assessment services to patients engaged in primary care. To increase collaboration between the patient and our team, appointments with me often occur the same day the patient meets with the primary care provider and sometimes I will meet with patients alongside their primary care provider. Typical episodes of care usually last just a few appointments with the goal of teaching the patient strategies and skills they can use to best manage their overall health. I provide treatment, assessment and consultation for a range of health conditions and have expertise in many evidence-supported treatments, including but not limited to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Brief Alcohol Interventions, Brief Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Chronic Pain, Brief Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, Motivational Interviewing, and Processing Emotions in Primary Care.

In addition to my clinical role, I also serve as the Director of Behavioral Medicine – Integrated Care at UBMD helping to develop and implement integrated care models within UBMD Internal Medicine. The goal of integrated care is to improve care for all patients within UBMD, meaning I frequently consult with primary care providers and other team members to support our entire clinic population.

My past research has focused on alcohol use and chronic pain.
