Buffalo, N.Y. – UBMD Obstetrics & Gynecology (UBMD OBGYN) announces the addition of two new specialists and a women’s health-certified nurse practitioner, providing general obstetrics and gynecologic care.
Suzanne Griffith, MD received her medical degree from and completed her residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University. She joins UBMD OBGYN from Emory Saint Joseph’s Women’s Center in Atlanta, GA and was an assistant professor at Emory University. Griffith is a Western New York native, born and raised in Lancaster.
Rachelle St. Onge, MD, MPH received her medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University and her Master of Public Health from SUNY Upstate and Syracuse University, completing her residency at the University of Rochester.
Both physicians have appointments as clinical assistant professors in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo, teaching medical students and residents.
Kari Beardsley, WHNP has experience with low-risk and high-risk obstetrics, well-woman care and family planning. Beardsley’s previous experience includes both outpatient and inpatient care, including the labor and delivery unit of a local hospital. She received her Master of Science from the University at Buffalo.
“We are very excited to welcome these practitioners to our faculty and UBMD practice,” said Vanessa Barnabei, MD, PhD, president and CEO of UBMD OBGYN and chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Jacobs School. “They each bring a unique set of talents and experiences that will benefit our patients, students and residents.”
Both physicians will see patients at the Wehrle Drive office initially, as well as at the Conventus medical office building on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus in the near future. Beardsley sees patients at both locations.
Griffith and St. Onge will both perform in-office diagnostic and treatment procedures, such as biopsies, colposcopy, endometrial ablation, intrauterine device insertion and more. Additionally, Griffith and St. Onge will provide in-patient care at Oishei Children’s Hospital, Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital and Buffalo General Medical Center.
