Pediatric Hospitalist Service

A hospitalist is a physician who specializes in the care of patients that require admission to the hospital. Our field of practice focuses on providing the highest quality medical care to hospitalized patients. The hospitalist service covers more than 10,000 combined inpatient admission days per year.

Access to direct admission to the hospital for medically appropriate patients, allowing avoidance of the Emergency Department.

• Inpatient consultative services available for patients admitted to surgical services and other subspecialty services at OCH.  
• Discharge summaries forwarded to the primary care physician within 48 hours of discharge. 
• Follow-up primary care appointments arranged for patients upon discharge.
• Quick connections to OCH’s subspecialist consultations.
• Continuity of care for pediatric patients residing at HighPointe on Michigan, as they may require intermittent inpatient hospitalization at OCH.
